Rules & Regulations
Please read the tournament rules carefully before proceeding.
Format of play: Swiss System
Number of rounds: 7 rounds (if any category has less than 8 players then the rounds will be reduced to 5)
Time control: 15 mins + 5 sec increment from 1st move
Tie-break: Buchholz cut 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Direct Encounter, Greater no. of victories
Disqualification: If any player is found concealing identity, concealing rating, playing with a different name, cheating, using an electronic gadget, or misbehaving with players or arbiters, the player will be expelled from the event.
Discussion / Analysis: While a game is in progress, a player may talk only to an Arbiter or to the opponent as permitted by the Laws of Chess. Analysis is not allowed in the playing hall.
Withdrawal: If a player is absent in any round without informing the Chief Arbiter in writing, the player's name will be removed from pairing.
Draw agreement: Players can agree to a draw only after completion of Black's 20th move.
Spectators: Players who have finished their game are treated as spectators and are not allowed in the playing hall.
Accompanying persons are requested to wait in the designated waiting area.
The Chief Arbiter's decision is final in all cases of dispute.
Submission of results: Both players must together go to the results table and ensure that the result is input correctly. Change of result by one player will not be accepted.
